Brighton Rock

Being a Brighton belle myself and the daughter of an original Mod (Terry Tonik if you were wondering), I am pretty excited to see the re-make of Graham Greene's dark entertainment set in a 1960s Mod era Brighton.

In cinemas 4th February.

We are the mods, we are the mods, we are, we are, we are the mods!!

five dollar shake

I just couldn't resist watching Pulp Fiction when it was on TV last night.
Still my favourite Tarantino film...and the pinnacle of my fancy dress inspiration, when I went to a friend's birthday party aged sixteen as Mia Wallace.
(I still do a pretty mean 'Fox Force Five' joke impression...)

rouge noir nail polish and lips
fitted white shirt with killer cuffs
black capri pants
bobbed black hair
bare feet for dancing

...I said God damn! God damn...

one sunday morning...

...me and my beau were surprised and totally flattered to be stopped and photographed by the lovely Dvora of fashionistable at Columbia Road market (my favourite place to be on a Sunday morning) just as we were scoffing deep fried prawns with chilli sauce.
Later we bought 40 Schiaparelli pink roses, a bunch of pussy willow and had a delicious lunch (and one too many Bloody Marys) at The Royal Oak.
Sunday Perfection.

Iconographic gold and Florentine blue

Gareth Pugh film screened at Orsanmichele in Florence for Pitti Uomo

The six outfits are inspired by the gold and cobalt blue of religious iconography found in the churches of Florence.

Excessive and opulent but at the same time pure and symbolic, and very feminine.

Shiny materials, stark shapes and totally seductive...
...Amen.
